Thank God for another blessing day!!! It is Sunday so that means laundry and food shopping for the week. The work week is here and I am so not ready. I think I may need a glass of wine for my night cap and I may be ready after that, we'll see lol. Me and the babe started the day early so we could run our errands and after catch someone of the little sun we got. The sun was teasing us all day and the rain was "On,off and on" like crazy, so annoying. Good thing the rain came and went when it did because we got through our Sunday errands pretty quickly. After riding around the city, we decided to get some fresh air, eat some lunch and go for a walk. So, let me tell you about my day...We walked pass this alley that looked so cool, stone detailed street and the colors back there reflected so well with the little sun that peaked out. Selfie time! We enjoyed our time taking pics of the view and oh yea of me, lol...Little did we know, there were car garages back there. We found that out by a resident driving through and parking. He looked startled but went along with his business. We continued to walk and take pictures until that same guy comes out and says to us "People are going to think you guys are taking pictures to rob us or something" and laughs. We were shocked and asked him to repeat what he just said and he repeats as If he's asking us a question. My boyfriend then showed him that he's a photographer, which he is; the guy smiled, patted him on the back and walked off. Honestly, we immediately felt stereotyped because of our racial differences and characterized negatively. We tried to look at things in his shoes but was still bothered. We were on a public street that we happened to like the look of to take pictures. It broke my spirit and I got emotional because that never happened to me before. Whether it was my race or my character that caused his judgement, I was upset. Either way my boyfriend and I felt stereotyped and misjudged when all we wanted to do was enjoy nature. Again my energy went from 100 to zero real fast. After my boyfriend and I discussed it, we made a decision to use this incident as a lesson learned by turning a negative situation into a positive outcome. My boyfriend showed this guy his page to prove to him we were innocently taking pictures. I wanted to leave but my boyfriend told me "No, we are not going anywhere, this is a public area, take your picture and get ready for the world." We are very kind-hearted and believe everyone has good in them but this incident just disappointed me. I just have to remember there are situations happen in life that may break you or try and rain or your parade, but you can't let them stop your movement,Ok! Let's not get away from this cute look I put together. Before I got dressed I said, "Forget them rain boots"... Now I like rain boots but I decided to dress up just a little and wear something lightweight, cute but sporty. I wanted to keep it casual, cute enough to take pics and comfortable to take a walk in. This grey ribbed detailed turtle-neck maxi dress is from a trendy online boutique, Tobi.com. Sneakers are the classic 'old skool' low top vans from Nordstrom. Watch is Michael Kors and bracelet is from Pandora. Arm bracelet is a choker I got from Target that I temporarily turned into an arm bracelet. Hey boops!....So, this is a oldie but goodie, well this year type of old, lol. These pics just got lost in my photo files but pow!!! found them! Let me start of by saying that it was a beautiful day, I wish the sun was out today, it's so nasty out. This "fit" actually works for a bright sunny day. The strappy sandal and lightweight faux pants. Simple t-shirt layered with a denim jacket for the cool breeze. The hat kept the "fit" casual. This look is so versatile with one motion meaning, Happy hour flow and then later on, take the hat off for a little night cap!
These pants are so comfortable, like I can squat and get back up with no problem. The best part is that they keep their shape after a long period of time of wearing them. I can't stress enough that I hate hate hate when I'm wearing a nice pair of pants and after a few hours it look like your knees grew a extra pair. All the baggy around the knees, so annoying. It's like wearing sweatpants, now you can't win with sweatpants cuz that happens. But, I do own a couple of pairs that keep shape for me for a little while and I am so grateful for those few ok! Nevertheless, I love these pants! They were purchased from an online boutique, Fashionnova.com, the link will be below. I purchased this cool denim jacket and strappy heel form a boutique around where I live. When I caught eyes on this jacket I had to get it. Now it was a little pricey for me at the time but sometimes when an item is calling, you have to pick up! Besides me loving layers, I love layers, This denim jacket was distressed and I liked the wash of the denim and as well as the length of the jacket. I am so into the longline t-shirts, jackets, sweaters, etc. Strappy heels or sandals, whatever you like calling them, great for this spring summer weather. Strappy heels and sandals are like and old faithful to summer footwear, so keep them toes done boops! I don't care if you have to do them ok! My hat was purchased from a local designer and boutique, Milano Di Rouge. Checkout the links below and browse the websites, you won't be disappointed!
